I started at the zone in October of 2017, after my husband convinced me to give it a try. My husband had been training with Ed for about 6 months and told me I had to give it a try. I didn’t like working out at all and said I couldn’t lose weight due to an underactive thyroid. The zone proved that wrong very quickly!
Even with an underactive thyroid I’ve been able to lose 20 pounds and 8% body fat since I started going to the zone. Ed and all his trainers make you feel right at home, and never let you slip through the cracks! Not only did I lose 20 pounds, but my strength has grown so much! I could barely deadlift 50 pounds when I started working out and now I’m up to 255 pounds!!!
Take it from a person that never enjoyed working out, and dreaded going to a gym… the zone is the only place to go in Westchester County.

I am 48 years old, and I used to be in great shape, until life happened. My family life got the best of me, and I let my career take over. It’s fair to say that I completely put my health and fitness on the back burner.
In march of 2017 I decided to take my strength and fitness back into my own hands, and join the zone. I came I with a torn rotator cuff, herniated discs in my lower back and degenerating discs in my neck. Through the personalized programming in the semi-private training sessions at the zone, I was able to make my strength sky rocket, while also losing body fat and gaining muscle mass.
When I began my journey at the zone, I was 210 pounds and 25% body fat. In just a short time span I’ve dropped down to 185 pounds and gone down to 16% body fat. Weight loss and dropping body fat were not my primary goals, so the fact that I was able to do this is pretty outstanding. All of my joints are feeling so much better, I’m no longer in pain and I can work through all of my injuries with no problem during the workouts.
The Zone is a very professional environment, with great attention to detail and tons of motivation around you. Although the coaches are very lighthearted, they go out of their way to ensure you get the results you want.

I posted a status on facebook saying I was looking for a gym because I wanted to finally make a lifestyle change. Some people suggested crossfit to me, other people suggested Lifetime Fitness, but I knew I didn’t want either of those. One of my friends commented on it saying I should check out The Zone. I knew some of my teacher friends trained there, but I didn’t know much about it.
I decided to friend Ed on Facebook, and get talking to him about coming in. We set up a day and time, and I never looked back from there. In 3 weeks I lost 5 pounds of body weight, while adding 4 pounds of muscle mass to my body and dropping 3% body fat. This was all without even following the diet program he gave me. Imagine what it would have been like If I followed his diet program!

I first started going to The Zone: Strength and Fitness a year ago, just looking to gain stability in my joints for rugby. The six week program was very successful and really set me up for a great spring season! I continued to work with Ed, because how much better I got each week. After training with Ed for a year now, more than just rugby has been affected. This year was the first time I’ve gone snowboarding and come off the mountain with more energy than starting…no sore muscles, joints felt great (I’ve had 2 knee surgeries). I’m not really a big “gym” person per say. I don’t want other people getting in my way, and I hate doing the same thing month after month and not seeing results. After my second kid, I gained weight like crazy. I was out of shape, had no motivation and just didn’t like working out in general. I found it boring! Working with Ed has finally made exercise fun for me. We do different stuff every week, and I see my strength sky rocketing and my body changing! I’ve been working with Ed since the beginning of summer 2015, and I can’t get enough of it. I have more confidence, I’m so much stronger and if I can’t workout at least twice every week I actually get mad!

I’ve been working with Ed since June 2015, with the original goal of losing at least 30 pounds by my daughter’s wedding in March of 2016. Through personalized workouts, diet advice and being held accountable each session, Ed helped me to burn off 30 pounds of fat, increase my muscle mass by 10% and decrease my body fat percentage by %15. This was all in just 9 short months!!
I originally did the 21 day fit mom challenge, and I was about to lose 10 pounds in 3 short weeks, through the challenge alone! Ed takes pride in his workouts and will outwork any trainer in Westchester county!

Before I met Ed, I was working out on my own at Lifetime Fitness in Harrison. My workouts were decent, but I always got bored and all I really did was the stairmaster for about 30 minutes with no direction. I knew that I had to switch up my workouts, but I had no idea how. Once I started working out with Ed, he taught me how to use weights to really get in shape. Every workout was something new, and I really started to see results. I’ve now lost 30 pounds over the course of 2 years, but that’s also while getting stronger and adding muscle to my body!! That’s pretty darn awesome if you ask me!

I came to the zone in December of 2016, really not knowing what to expect. My friend Caroline had won a 21 day fit mom challenge through an auction at the Osborn school scare fair and invited me to come along with her. I’ve always exercised on my own or with friends, but never through the guidance of a trainer. I never felt I needed a trainer, and always thought it would be a waste of time and money.
I could not have been more incorrect in my assumptions! After just a week of working with Ed and his team at the zone, I fell in love with it! It was a very welcoming and fun environment full of fun workouts and great results. I was able to lose 5 pounds in 21 days, and keep all of it off afterward. People quickly noticed the results and were begging me to tell them what I was doing. I simply told them “working out at the zone”.

I saw ads for the zone on Facebook for something called the “28 day memorial day meltdown challenge” and figured why not give it a try. I didn’t expect much out of it and I didn’t expect to be able to lose much weight.
My expectations were proven very wrong and I am so happy about it. Doing the 28 day challenge showed me that it’s so much different going to a trainer, rather than just working out on your own at a big gym.
I’m 6 months in now, down close to 12 pounds and that’s with only exercising. I haven’t followed any meal programs or diet so that is insane! I couldn’t be happier with the results that Ed, Brock and the entire team at the zone have helped me with. I am so thankful to have found them!
